Regular Services

In light of the Government guidance around non-essential contact, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York have issued advice that public worship is suspended until further notice.

St John’s will remain open during the day, but no public worship services will take place until further notice.

All public services are suspended

The following regular services will be resumed when circumstances allow.

1st and 3rd Sunday at 8.30 am

Holy Communion

  • A ‘said’ service using the Common Worship.
  • Held In the side chapel.

First Sunday of the month at 10 am

family-service

Worship Together

  • A family-friendly service.
  • Typically lasts an hour or less.
  • Sometimes includes Holy Communion.

Other Sundays at 10 am

Holy Communion

  • A service with hymns and a sermon followed by refreshments.
  • Each week there is a dedicated family area in church for very young children.
  • During term time there is a children’s group.

We offer a range of activities for young people.

Tuesday at 9:15 am

Morning Prayer using Celtic liturgyceltic-cross

  • Includes prayer together and times of silence.
  • Held in the side chapel.
  • Lasts around 20 minutes.

Wednesday at 9:30 am

Holy Communion

  • A reflective service using the Book of Common Prayer.
  • Followed by refreshments.
  • Held in the side chapel.

Thursday at 6 pm

Evening Prayer using Celtic liturgy

  • Includes prayer together and times of silence.
  • Held in the side chapel.
  • Lasts around 20 minutes.
